Solution To UTME Result Checking Issues

1. Ensure the Phone number you are using to send UTMERESULT to 55019 is the same number you used in creating your profile code during UTME registration.
2. If you have lost the Phone number or SIM and go for JAMB Change of Number.
3. Ensure the format of the SMS is UTMERESULT to 55019.
4. Note that the result must be in capital letters and it must be spelt “UTMERESULT” and not “UTME RESULT”.
5. Also, there should be no space between UTME and RESULT. It should be sent as one word “UTMERESULT”

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is the first step for candidates seeking admission into various universities, polytechnics, colleges, and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions.

The board conducts entrance Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian universities.

The board is also charged with the responsibility to administer similar examinations for applicants to Nigerian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The pioneer registrar was Michael Saidu Angulu, who served from inception in 1978 until 1986.

The current registrar of JAMB is Ishaq Oloyede, who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2016.

Every year, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board conduct an examination that determines whether a student will be admitted to higher education.

A record number of more than 2.1 million candidates registered for the 2020 examination.

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is only valid for a year and with a grade range of 0–400.

After the conduct of the year’s examination, the board sits and deliberates on the cut-off mark for universities, polytechnics and colleges of education, with some institutions requiring higher marks.
